It’s an amazing thing when you find that the job you love and adore can still surprise you.  You think you know how you are going to feel and react in a situation because you’ve done this a hundred times over.  I’ve watched so many transformations from the everyday girl into the “blushing” bride.  I come to know that girl I first meet with as she excitedly chats about the plans for her big day, and then suddenly, she’s standing before me on her wedding day dressed in the most fabulous dress ever and looking so stunning I can hardly recognize her.  I see this almost every weekend, and yet for some reason, when Alex was finished getting dressed and I looked at her, I started to tear up.  I can’t describe or even show you in photographs just HOW beautiful she looked, because it was more than her shoes, dress, make-up and hair.  It was simply HER.  She was positively glowing and I could see in her face just how excited she was to get to the church and see Andy waiting for her at the end of that aisle.

Andy and Alex were married in Boston at the Old North Church.  The fact that they decided to be married under a structure with such huge symbolism of faith, foundation and longevity says a lot about their relationship with one another.   The wedding was a total tribute to downtown Boston and everything that Andy and Alex love about it.  Their guests were shuttled from the church to the Seaport World Hotel via the much loved Beantown Trolleys.  At the Seaport, guests had an amazing view of the nighttime Boston skyline, which thankfully was not completely fogged (it rained on and off the whole wedding day).  After the formalities of the evening, the ties came off (literally) – in fact the Bride’s father started a limbo line with two ties as the sticks – and it was a pretty hot party with awesome music by Ron from C-Zone Music.

One of my favorite parts of Andy and Alex’s wedding was their theme – Peacock feathers!  The colors were gorgeous and Alex did a really great job with all of the details of the day.  She was what I would consider a very resourceful bride and thought outside the box to add little personalized touches here and there.  I adored the custom hairpieces she had for each of her bridesmaids, as well as the handmade purses each bridesmaid carried (all from Etsy, which if you have not discovered Etsy yet and you are a bride, GO NOW!)

Enjoy the photos and as always, a special thanks to the BEST associate photographer ever – Ben Burrows.  Be sure to check out his work here.

I really love this photo of all the bridesmaids.  Very classic.007boston seaport hotel wedding Andy and Alex Boston Seaport World Hotel

Each bridesmaid had her initial in a jeweled charm attached to her bouquet.  Alex’s bouquet had her grandmother’s broach and a photo of each of her grandmothers.008boston seaport hotel wedding Andy and Alex Boston Seaport World Hotel

These are the custom purses Alex gave to each lovely lady.  How cute are they? 009boston seaport hotel wedding Andy and Alex Boston Seaport World Hotel

Ben took this next one of the guys.  I love it.010boston seaport hotel wedding Andy and Alex Boston Seaport World Hotel

On the trolley on the way to the church.  I think eveyone was looking out the window trying to sneak a peak of Ben Affleck who was filming near by for a new movie. Even though Ben is quite handsome, Alex decided that Andy was still her man and stayed on the trolley…a wise choice in my opinion.011boston seaport hotel wedding Andy and Alex Boston Seaport World Hotel

Alexandra’s Mom was just showing me the pictures on Christmas eve and I could not believe the quantity and quality of the pictures you took. I say that because because I barely remembered seeing you at the wedding. You are the invisible woman with an exceptional eye. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job.

  2. Alex says:

Michelle – the pictures are just amazing! My eyes well up everytime I look at them and think of how perfectly you have captured the spirit and emotion of that very fun and joyful day. Andy and I could not be happier and we cannot wait to see the rest of them! Thank you so much!
