As a wedding photographer, you always try to be as discreet as possible. Well, imagine you’re at a wedding, having a good time, when all of a sudden, the wedding photographer is feet up, falling flat out on her face near the dance floor. Discreet? Not really. Totally embarrassing. Absolutely. That was ME at this wedding. It’s a good thing I can laugh at myself, because I can only imagine what I looked like when I slipped on the hardwood floor where someone had spilled their drink. And of course, to protect my cameras, I went down wrists first. Not smart. But hey! The cameras were saved! Quite the excitement and hopefully something I’ll never have to repeat again.
Despite the minor catastrophe, Adam and Rachel’s wedding was so much fun. You met this couple on my blog back in August when I posted their awesome engagement session in DC. Everytime I am around these two, I am happy. They have such good energy and I couldn’t wait for their fall wedding.
October 9th arrived – the weather was gorgeous and the leaves had just started to change. As Rachel prepared to head off to the church to marry Adam, she just couldn’t stop smiling. She was literally ecstatic. I don’t think I saw one ounce of nervousness in her. For Adam, the quieter of the two, he just looked so calm and collected, even as Rachel began to make her way down the aisle.
The ceremony was held in Springfield with the reception following at the Grand Atrium in Vienna. The theme of the reception was CRAZY FUN! By far, Rachel and Adam had one of the best dance crowds I’d seen all season. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone rock it out so hard to Journey as this group did. There was even a MJ cameo moment when about 20 people, Rachel and Adam included, took to the dance floor for all out Thriller action. So awesome. Perhaps I’ll have to convince Rachel to do a zombie-themed Rock the Dress session now!!!
I had an amazing time photographing this wedding, especially with one of my fav ladies by my side. Kristi and I can almost always be found dancing around the floor with the guests, and we had an especially great time with this crowd. So a special thanks to Adam and Rachel and all of their guests for making this wedding so memorable.
Enjoy the photos!

This groomsmen was my favorite of the night. He was pure awesomeness.

THRILLER!
Oh yeah. What a party.
But always time for sweet moments too…
