As I waited at the end of the aisle at St. Louis church in Alexandria, I saw Carole and her dad enter. She made it all of about 5 steps before she starting crying. The tears were the followed by laughter and as I looked back at Rich, waiting for her, he was just grinning from ear to ear. The thing is, when I first met Carole, I wouldn’t have pegged her for a crier. I don’t know why – maybe it’s because she is so confident and outgoing…not surprising knowing that she teaches 5 grade. You probably have to be pretty assertive to handle pre-adolescence teens! Rich on the other hand is very quiet and thoughtful. I love how when I’m talking to him, I can see him processing what I’m saying and then taking his time to respond. On the outside, they seem like such opposites, but from what I’ve seen and saw on their wedding day, they are a perfect match on the inside.
The excitement, love and passion these two have for each other is so apparent. It was pretty much impossible selecting my favorite photos from their wedding day because in every single one of them, their expressions where just like two teenagers in love. We had such an amazing day together, especially in Old Town where we took the bridal party for photos. The best part was totally the transportation. A bright yellow school bus. We made quite the scene.
The reception was held at Waterford in Springfield and Carole and Rich incorporated a movie theme, with each of the tables being named after films. I personally would have wanted to sit at “The Wedding Singer” table – great movie, classic Adam Sandler. It was an energetic, lively evening that included some random karaoke by the guests (Carole and Rich, very much opposed to the traditional clicking of the champagne glasses for kisses insisted that their guests sing them a song with the word “love” in it if they wanted them to smooch. I think the plan backfired a bit and they spent most of dinner kissing one another).
Carole and Rich, thank you for having Kelsey and I as part of your wedding day! We absolutely loved every minute of it and still talk about how much fun we had that day!
Enjoy the photos!

I heart these flower girls. Sooooo adorable in orange!

Simple stunning.
The bridesmaids dresses were from JCrew and I loved the multiple colors…and dresses with pockets! Can’t go wrong there!
I loved how while I was taking the above shot, Kelsey was getting this shot! Such a great team!
What a happy bride!
Rich looks pretty darn good himself.
And the rest of the boys.
On the way to the ceremony. I think Carole was having an “oh my gosh – I’m about to get married” moment here! I love it!
Can’t tell you why, but I heart this next photo.

I love this shot that Kelsey got!
Carole’s dad giving her away.

This little guy was more interested in watching me than the service. Look at that natural lighting in the church!
This is the best church to photograph a wedding in. The natural lighting was unbelievable.

Married!
We took a few quick portraits in the church – I had to take advantage of the skylights and the amazing lighting patterns they were providing.

SEE! Teenagers in love! So cute.

Carole has the best expressions EVER!

Bringing in the movie theme again…

The guests singing to Carole and Rich! (Kelsey captured this one…)

(…while I got this) And the Kiss.

Happy Friday!
