Sweet doesn’t even begin to describe Katie and Cody, but it’s a pretty good start. There are so many moments from their wedding day that I loved – I laughed, I smiled a lot, I teared-up, I danced a little bit. Here are a few of my memories from this extraordinary day that I got to share with these two incredibly kind individuals
1.) Katie’s expression as her maid of honor helped her put her garter on. She fell onto the bed laughing hysterically…
2.) Cody’s soft knock at the door minutes before Katie was about to walk down the aisle. The two of them didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, but they did want to talk so they held hands behind a door, each of them knowing that in a few minutes they were going to marry their best friend.
3.) Katie’s Maid of Honor’s speech. They’ve been best friends for pretty much their entire lives. I got sad and happy at the same time, thinking about and missing my 4 best girlfriends that I’ve known for 15 years and how much important friendships like those are.
4.) The ringbearers. Sooooo cute and funny! They wore platinum white sunglasses all day long. They refused to take them off. Hilarious.
5.) Katie’s look of complete embarrassment when her dad handed Cody the letter Katie had written when she was just a little girl – it was addressed to “My Darling Husband,” which Cody now was!
6.) The surprise in Cody’s eye when Katie smashed wedding cake in his face! In her defense, he smushed cake in her’s first…I just don’t think he thought she’d retaliate!
7.) The look these two give each other. They truly see no one else but each other.
I always love my job, but it’s days like this that make me feel in awe of the moments I get to witness, experience and capture for such awesome couples like Katie and Cody.
