Amira and Phil are such a fun, relaxed couple. The morning of their engagement session, Phil was actually in a minor fender bender with another car, but he showed up to the session cool, calm and collected and ready to have some fun! I think that says a lot about a person when they are able to put something out of their mind and just focus on what’s in front of them. I often wish I had more of that quality in myself!
We met in Chinatown early on an extremely HOT and humid Tuesday morning…and when I say early, I mean early. It was like 6:45 am, which for me, is pretty early to not only be out of bed, but on location ready to shoot (let’s not kid ourselves, there’s a reason I’m a wedding and portrait photographer versus a landscape photographer – my body simply doesn’t enjoy getting out of bed before sunrise)! But every time I do wake up early enough to see the sun rising over the Potomac as I’m driving into downtown DC, a calm washes over me and it’s always worth it.

Yes, waking up at 5:30 am is difficult, but so worth it for natural, beautiful light such as this.
Ah! Love this one!
This is such a great photo of these two!
