The DC area is swarming with amazing venues to hold your wedding at.  From rustic vineyards to historic mansions, stately classical buildings to hip restaurants, there is a little bit of everything for everyone.

When I first visited the Hotel Palomar, I feel in love with its vibe immediately.  It was non-traditional, modern and definitely stylish.  I wanted to photograph there immediately.  Hotel Palomar is a boutique style hotel with locations in both Arlington and DC.  The Arlington location boasts an amazing view of Georgetown from its roof deck (perfect backdrop for a outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour) while the DC location is conveniently situated near trendy Dupont Circle.

One of the things I love the most about the Palomar hotels is that while they both offer your traditional “ballroom,” for weddings, they also offer the option to rent out their adjoining restaurant for a more lounge type atmosphere. Guests can cozy up in the booths and chairs while enjoying delicious martinis and heavy passed hor’derves.

A few weeks ago I visited Urbana, the restaurant/lounge at the DC Palomar location to take some photographs of the space for their promotional materials. You can see how fun and dramatic the space is. Now just envision a wedding reception there. For that certain modern, city couple, this space is perfect.

And to see how the Arlington location transforms for a wedding reception, head over to United with Love’s blog to see Emily and Carl’s featured wedding from last fall!
