Romance at the office? That wasn’t on Mat’s mind when he sat down across from Jenny on his first day of work, but that quickly changed as this creative and fun couple began to get to know each other. Working for the same design firm introduced them, but love of good design and fun travel adventures, among many other things, bonded them. With a love of all things artistic, the wedding day photography was VERY important to both of them and I loved how involved they both were for all of the photography planning details.
Sometimes the biggest events in life begin with the simple things in mind. Mat’s proposal was not flashy and extravagant, but passionate and personal. As Jenny finished a long day of work, Mat patiently encouraged her to keep the plans they had for dinner at their favorite restaurant, and instead of proposing over a dessert of tiramisu, he asked for her hand BEFORE they went out, so the two of them could privately share that special moment together.
The only good secret to keep before marriage is one that is agreed upon by both parties. Jenny and Mat decided to custom design each other’s wedding rings, and have the big reveal AT the ceremony, so they would each be surprised.
The blend of Mat’s fondness of all things eclectic and Jenny’s love of Old Hollywood, evidenced in her stunning dress design, was influential in the details of their wedding reception at the Ritz Carlton. They had one if their first dates here and thought it would be the perfect place to tie the knot.
Jenny and Mat wanted a few sunset photos of their wedding day, so while their guests were distracted by delicacies and dancing, we snuck off to the Georgetown waterfront for a few sunset shots.
