Where did you and your husband meet? At a bar. Does that really happen? That’s exactly where Kevin and Lizzie met, when they both attended a residency happy hour for Johns Hopkins & University of Maryland.
The proposal, however, was a little more planned out and Kevin made sure to incorporate both of their families. For her birthday, Kevin surprised Lizzie with a trip to Antrim in Taneytown to propose. Once he proposed on bended knee, he asked her not to call her family yet so they could enjoy the moment together. They then walked up to the main gardens near the entrance to Antrim, where Kevin surprised Lizzie by having her parents and Kevin’s parents join them for a celebratory lunch, with birthday and engagement gifts aplenty!
Kevin and Lizzie have a unique appreciation for art, photography and lighting and it was important to them that this be reflected in their engagement photos. We got a a beautifully, sunny fall afternoon in Leesburg to create these dramatic and romantic photos of Kevin + Lizzie. There are so many nook and crannies in town that favor this lighting and it’s one of my favorite times in the day for an engagement session.
Kevin and Lizzie call each other “Bird” because of Lizzie’s love of all things bird related. He loves to dance and she loves to hike.
The great thing about engagement sessions is that couples can have some fun with the day, and if the weather isn’t just what they envision, they can reschedule for another day when the weather is conducive to the setting, unlike a wedding day when we all have to work with what we have, rain or shine!
I look forward to capturing every detail of their wedding day with them when they marry at The Cosmos Club.
